Nicholasville Fire Station #4
NICHOLASVILLE FIRE STATION #4
Nicholasville, KY
Banks Engineering completed field surveys and site/civil designs for the new Nicholasville Fire Station #4 in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Growth in the northern portion of Jessamine County has facilitated the city’s need to expand its public safety infrastructure by constructing a new 7,225 square foot state-of-the-art fire station. Banks Engineering provided the following work elements to the project architect:
- Boundary and topographic surveys.
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, Site Plan, Grading & Drainage Plan, Landscape Plan, Site Details, and written specifications.
- Innovative stormwater filtration systems including a rain garden and vegetated filter strips to treat on-site runoff before it enters a regional detention basin.
- Interpretive signage to educate public of stormwater filtration systems being used on site.
The site/civil designs were incorporated into the overall project, which bid in 2019 for approximately $3 million.
